THE BIRTH OF (V)ENIS:
TRANSLATING & FRAGMENTING FEMININITIES
It is hard to come to terms with your femininity if you do not fully
understand what it is.
Divine?
Monstrous?
a hybrid-both?
a Third neither?
I went in confident that I knew what is and how I was going to
represent her but I faltered when I realised that no matter what I
thought I produced, it just seemed to reproduce tropes or read as
the tried and tired tale of the singular feminine.
wa(l)king circuits in the exotic dreams of patriarchy
A birth/death wrapped in death/birth
performing a (re)production
becoming seen in a scene
so instead of letting it continually break me, I began to break it.
