Nkuna was born in 2001, Kempton Park

Her interdisciplinary work consists of screen-printed 3D renders and metal fixtures reminiscent of structures that act as borders within domestic spaces. Her practice gravitates towards critically thinking about buildings as more than static enclosed structures with a label and function but as structures that are in a constant state of metamorphosis as Elizabeth Grosz explains in the book Architecture from the
outside: Essays on virtual and real space, buildings change based on how they are inhabited, and whom they are inhabited by. This body of work acts as a journey towards understanding how our perceptions of inhabitation in the neighborhood are shaped by the narratives we attach to form and materiality in our quest for meaning-making when constructing our world and she looks at how this notion begins to reveal itself in the play area, the play area is an important place to start because everything stems from play.

As someone with a background of making and playing Video Games as a hobby, this led her to question how this exposure to virtual spatiality has influenced her perceptions of materiality, senses, inhabitation, information, and worldbuilding, she now looks into the idea of world-building beyond virtual reality and looks at the extent to which virtual and physical worldbuilding tend to borrow from each other architecturally and philosophically, similar to physical spaces of play with modular structures.
